1. Touring reserves

The Canadian Roots Exchange is NOT a guided tour. It is NOT about an opportunity to ride through a reserve and hide behind your camera. It is NOT about watching people, or padding your resume. The Canadian Roots Exchange is rooted in the ideals of exchange – exchanges of dialogue, exchanges of experiences, and exchanges of location. We travel to communities in order to learn from the people who we meet, to extend our hands in friendship and to grow together as a group, as individuals and as a country.

2. Thinking that we’re always right

Here at the Canadian Roots Exchange, we think we’ve got a pretty good thing going. But we also understand that there is always room for improvement. That’s why we are committed to learning and growing as an organization through the feedback of our participants, our host communities, and our allies.
